Vice President of Marketing and Communications

Zachary Sweet

Zac has been a member of the PMI Rochester chapter since January 2017. He was appointed by the Board to VP of Marketing and Communications role in mid-May 2018 when the seat was vacated. Before that, Zac was serving as both the Director of Technology and the Director of Documentation and Administration, and still holds those roles today. Zac is seeking his PMP certification in the near future. In 2017, Zac was the recipient of the Volunteer of the Quarter for Q4, as well as the Volunteer of the Year for 2017 overall. The role of Director of Doc&Admin has given Zac the opportunity to sit with the board and listen to the long-term strategy and the dedication that the Rochester chapter has to its members.  Zac helped orchestrate the delivery of the offering of virtual meetings to our members as well as implementing an email platform giving us the ability to send mail using our pmirochester.org domain!

Zac is currently employed at Wegmans Food Markets, where he is a Project Coordinator. He is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology with a BS in Management Information Systems.

Zac is highly motivated and passionate about change. By providing a modern perspective to the Marketing and Communications portfolio, Zac is confident that he will be an asset to the chapter. Zac aims to assist with attracting interest for other young professionals and to provide a fresh insight into the overall planning, governance, and strategy of the chapter as a whole.

Vice President of Governance

Christopher Joy

Chris Joy earned his PMI Project Management Professional credential in 2006.  In his 20 years at Xerox Corporation Chris has served as a Project Manager, Program Manager, PMO Manager, and in various other leadership assignments – with his most recent focus in Organizational Transition / Transformation roles.  Chris most enjoys opportunities to identify and grow people’s strengths, bring them together as a team, and utilize process and technology to maximize their level of success.

Chris is a Rochester native who currently lives in Fairport with his wife Sarah and 3 children (Anna (12), Libby (11), and Michael (6)).  He graduated from SUNY @ Buffalo (“UB”) with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration including concentrations in Finance and Management Information Systems.   He has an array of volunteer experiences, and has been looking for an opportunity to more fully apply himself in service the broader community; with his children now all school-aged (and more independent every day) he has the time to commit to doing so.

“I’ve enjoyed serving as VP of Governance over the past six months.  I’m appreciative of this great group of people ranging from the Board of Directors to so many dedicated volunteers to the membership at large.   This board is clearly committed to the continued strengthening of our contribution to the profession and various facets of our community.  I look forward to continuing to be part of that.”
